Correctional Nurse Job Details

Job Summary: American Medical Staffing (AMS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our corrections medical team in a state prison for men in Virginia. As a Correctional Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient health status, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions as needed
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
  • Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, correctional staff, and community resources to ensure continuity of care
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
