">Bachmann Chemical and Engineering, a leading innovator of advanced-performance materials, seeks a skilled Reactor Operator to join our team at our Torrington, CT facility. This role involves safely producing batch adhesives and oligomers formulations that meet quality, ISO, safety, and internal control standards.
About the Role
">- Safely operate industrial mixing and powerlifting equipment by setting and controlling mixing parameters to work instructions.
- Promote warehousing and material handling best practices by safely and efficiently transferring raw materials from delivery vehicles to warehouse storage to reactor workstations.
- Maintain a secure, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive, productive workplace by practicing safe handling procedures and following SDS, EH&S, and HazMat requirements.
- Employ best practices in inventory management by using first-in-first-out raw materials controls and maintaining cycle and stock counts.
- Create robust work batches by utilizing Work Orders and SOPs and accurately measuring and processing chemical ingredients in the production of finished formulations.
- Reduce quality errors by investigating and determining sources of errors and continuously improving practices and 6-sigma protocols.
Requirements
">- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced credential preferred.
- 3+ years' work experience in material processing, batch formulations, or chemical manufacture.
- Proficiency with computer programs – Inventory Management software, and Microsoft Office.
- Good math and organization skills.
- Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50lb.
- HazWhopped training preferred.
Compensation
">The estimated salary for this role is $23 per hour, with opportunities for further promotions and compensation within the position. A $500 sign-on bonus is also available.
Working Hours
">This role requires working Monday - Wednesday 6a-6p, Thursday 6a-12p, and occasional Fridays. However, frequent 3-day weekends are possible.
