Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team. As a key member of our pediatric feeding program, you will provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for children with mental health needs, in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children and their families, using evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of children's mental health needs, using the DSM-V as a guide.
  • Collaborate with our pediatric team to provide integrated care and support for children with complex needs.
  • Develop and lead psychoeducational groups and classes for children and their families, focusing on topics such as coping skills, anxiety management, and social skills.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that our services are aligned with best practices and meet the needs of our members.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) with the Couples and Families Endorsement.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a pediatric feeding program or a similar setting.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social functions that contribute to mental health, including the impact of trauma and adversity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
