We are seeking a skilled Virtual Inpatient Nurse to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Virtual Inpatient Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care through the application of the nursing process, utilizing technology to communicate with inpatient nursing, providers, and patients/family members.
Responsibilities- Assess and document patient status through virtual interviews.
- Function as a scribe for inpatient nursing for physical assessments and other assessment parameters.
- Develop individualized plans of care using a collaborative approach with patients/families and other healthcare team members.
- Complete required documentation, including medical records and event reports.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice and virtual nursing.
- Ensure all aspects of technology are functioning properly prior to usage.
- Conduct virtual assessments, scribe, and document admission/discharge processes.
- Analyze clinical situations systematically and act to obtain resources or correct problems.
- Prioritize work based on patient condition, assignment, and unanticipated interruptions.
- Identify and utilize team resources to solve problems or needs.
- Choose an appropriate communication style when interacting with others.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- 3-5 years of Med-Surg nursing experience, including Electronic Medical Record utilization.
- Current licensure in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Proficient computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
- Multicultural sensitivity.
- Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
