Job Summary

This role focuses on utilizing advanced imaging techniques and practices to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. As a senior-level technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of procedures involving the use of high-frequency sound waves to investigate internal body structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Assist radiologists and vascular surgeons in interpretation by describing anatomy, anatomical location, and acoustic characteristics of each examination.
  • Generate computer reports on all arterial studies, containing previous studies and pertinent history or surgical reports.
  • Develop and present instructional programs on technical vascular procedures for ultrasound, medical, and nursing staff.
  • Coordinate quarterly vascular quality assurance meetings and distribute meeting minutes to attendees.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new ultrasound and vascular equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments, techniques, and equipment in the ultrasound field through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or two-year certificate program in Ultrasound.
  • Two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist, with one additional year of experience performing vascular examinations.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification within one year of hire.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Frequent standing, occasional sitting, and walking.
  • Lifting of 30-35 pounds, pushing, and maneuvering equipment.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating echo equipment and computer keyboard.
Skills and Abilities
  • Medical terminology.
  • Clerical skills.
  • Proficiency in OB/GYN, small parts, venous, carotid, abdominal ultrasounds, and procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
