Zero Waste Representative

For example, as we grow volume in recycling and waste, we collect additional material to bolster our circularity capabilities.

The Zero Waste Representative works with businesses, institutions, and agencies to promote source reduction, reuse, and recycling throughout our designated Los Angeles Franchise Zones. This field position provides technical support and guidance on program implementation and operations to a diverse customer base.

• Schedule and complete proactive customer calls and visits, capturing key information in our information systems.
• Conduct initial waste assessments, collect data, confirm service levels, and prepare Contract Service Agreements for customers' signatures and set-ups.
• Provide customized reporting for customers.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of our available services, lines of business, pricing, and additional services as appropriate to assigned existing customers.
• Create a baseline and program goals for recycling, which may include public speaking engagements and training presentations at customer locations.
• Implement the Zero Waste Program in their assigned franchise zone.
• Manage major accounts and high-profile accounts in their franchise zone.
• Identify business-specific diversion programs and ensure implementation of waste assessments recommendations.
• Conduct follow-up visits to monitor and evaluate business-specific diversion program participation and provide additional support to non-compliant participants.
• Regularly meet with Operations Manager/Project Manager/Sales Manager to review weekly progress versus goals and status of implementation of the Zero Waste Program.
• Partner with the operations team, when needed, to address customer service issues.
• Build relationships and increase company visibility through participation in company-sponsored activities, trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and other similar activities.

• Experience in sustainability initiatives.
• Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders in formal and informal settings.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, identifying and addressing customer needs.
• Valid driver's license.
