Job Title: Appraiser (Commercial)

We are seeking a highly skilled Appraiser (Commercial) to join our team at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Washington, DC. As a key member of our Assessment Division, you will play a critical role in determining the value of commercial properties for tax assessment purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and appraise commercial properties with complex characteristics to determine their value for tax assessment purposes.
  • Prepare and analyze highly complex or controversial appraisals.
  • Assist supervisors with reviews of appraisals and appraisal reports.
  • Provide guidance to lower-graded appraisal staff.
Requirements:
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in assessing market value and conducting inspections of residential and/or commercial properties.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data on new and unique properties with complex characteristics.
  • Ability to review appraisal reports to ensure property values are estimated accurately and objectively.
  • Successful completion of IAAO courses 101, 102, 112, and 300 or equivalent.
