Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage emergency department patients' pharmaceutical needs
  • Provide medication-related information to physicians, staff, and community
  • Serve as a liaison to assigned patient care areas
  • Mentor and educate pharmacy staff, residents, and students
  • Coordinate delivery of pharmaceutical care within assigned specialty
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from a recognized college or university
  • Current NC pharmacy license required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred
  • Completion of accredited PGY1 residency program or 5 years of equivalent clinical experience required
  • Emergency medicine specialty residency preferred
  • Board certification required within 12 months of hire
  • Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) required after at least 6 months in the position with successful credentialing through the medical staff / NCBOP
  • Must meet ASHP preceptor criteria
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies
  • Knowledge of quality measures
  • Considerable skill in performing pharmacy procedures
  • Considerable ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members
  • Maintains active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals
