Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the radiation therapy team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Quality and Safety: Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with national protocols and state regulations.
- Staff Development and Training: Train and develop radiation therapists to meet performance standards and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
- Treatment Coordination: Coordinate all treatment, treatment planning, and room block activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
- Administrative and Financial Management: Assist in preparing budgets, monitor and operate within budget guidelines, and ensure accurate daily charge activities.
- Human Resources: Perform human resources responsibilities, including coaching on performance, completing performance reviews, and recommending hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy or related field.
- Experience: Typically requires 3 years of experience in radiation therapy, including experience as a lead or senior-level staff member.
- Licensure and Certification: Radiation Therapy (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and their families; ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely manner; proficient computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications or similar products.
- Physical Requirements: Must lift up to 20 lbs. continuously and over 100 lbs. occasionally; must stand/walk 85% of the time, as well as lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders.
- Environmental Factors: Exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards.
