Job Description

As an Aircraft Electrician with the Army National Guard, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing electrical systems on Army aircraft. This includes diagnosing malfunctions in electrical and electronic components, maintaining electrical/electronic elements of assemblies, and using and maintaining common/special tools. You will also be responsible for maintaining facilities for storage of flammable and hazardous materials and preparing requests for turn-ins and repair parts.

Some of the Skills You'll Learn

You will develop skills in electrical theory and system maintenance, troubleshooting procedures, and the use of hand and power tools. You will also learn about standard wiring practices and how to align and calibrate power distribution systems. Through your training, you will become proficient in the repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems on Army aircraft.

Helpful Skills

Preferring mathematics and shop mechanics is helpful, as is the ability to use hand and power tools. You will also need to be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards. Additionally, you must meet citizenship requirements and be between the ages of 17 and 35. Military enlistment in the Army National Guard is required. Programs and benefits are subject to change.
