Job Title: Dining Service Associate

Job Summary:
The Dining Service Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality dining experience for our residents. This position is responsible for performing a variety of dining service functions, including serving and maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized conditions of dining areas, facilities, and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with all aspects of dining service set-up, including preparing beverages, salads, desserts, and other food items as instructed and in accordance with recipes.
  • Ensures all foods are served at proper temperatures and on time.
  • Assists with dining room set up, including setting tables, stocking buffets, and serving residents.
  • Assists with all aspects of clean-up, including completing daily cleaning duties, bussing tables, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, washing dishes, removing trash, stocking and storing items correctly, and keeping all dining service work areas clean.
  • Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Follows all safety procedures and protocols as mandated by LSS policy, federal and state regulations, and standard food handling practices.
  • Maintains all necessary documentation, including checking and recording food temperatures in HACCP logs, recording product usage and waste amounts, and recording any other information needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Previous dining service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be patient and tolerant with staff, residents, and family members.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
The Dining Service Associate stands and walks intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulates various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment. The employee must have an ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents and to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes.
