POSITION SUMMARY
The Security Access Control Associate is responsible for ensuring that individuals entering the venue do not carry prohibited items such as weapons or alcoholic beverages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough screening of all individuals and their belongings before granting access to the venue.
- Effectively communicate with guests and staff, requesting that they open bags and outerwear for inspection.
- Collaborate with Keeneland Security and law enforcement to address any additional screening needs or safety issues that may arise.
- Assist with various security-related tasks as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Participate in a training session prior to the event to understand safety protocols and screening procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance, including a Keeneland-issued blazer and tie/scarf, along with personal khaki pants and a button-down shirt or blouse.
- Exhibit flexibility in scheduling, with a willingness to work varying hours during events with little notice.
- Possess strong verbal communication skills and demonstrate a positive interaction with guests and staff.
- Utilize sound judgment and discretion when engaging with individuals.
- Showcase excellent customer service skills and the ability to think quickly in dynamic situations.
- Work effectively in a multitasking environment and contribute positively to a team setting; candidates should demonstrate sound judgment and integrity.
- Successfully complete an interview designed to assess general knowledge and relevant skills for the position.
- Agree to adhere to the Drug-Free Workplace policy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
