Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Meat Handler Coordinator to join our team at Vallarta Supermarkets. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our meat handling processes.
Key Responsibilities- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
- Check meat temperatures regularly to ensure they are within safe limits, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist customers with their meat purchases, answering questions and providing product information as needed.
- Accurately place meat orders on weigh scales, printing out pricing labels for each purchase.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workstation, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- For employee purchases, ensure meat is placed in clear plastic bags, not wrapped in paper.
- Lift boxes and products weighing between 20-60 lbs.
- Place boxes and products onto dollies or carts.
- Push or pull loads weighing up to 200 lbs.
- Bend, stoop, and lift products below waist level, including shelves and racks.
- Grasp and grip products to prepare them for sale.
- Sweep and push brooms to maintain a clean work area.
- Place and remove products from the meat cooler, including shelving and produce bins.
- Reach above shoulder level to access sales floor and shelving systems.
- Obedience to state and federal guidelines regarding meat processing and safety policies.
- Wearing latex gloves when serving customers.
- Wearing safety gloves when cleaning the meat slicer machine.
- Proper headwear, including hats and hairnets.
- Frequent hand washing with hot water for at least 20 seconds.
$16.00-$18.00 per hour, based on industry standards and market rates.
