Penske Media, a pioneering global media and information services company, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its dynamic Legal team in Los Angeles. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, this role will involve handling a wide range of legal matters for the Company's Entertainment digital media and live media businesses.

The ideal candidate will have a strong transactional/commercial background, experience with the programmatic advertising ecosystem, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Counseling business unit leaders, editors, sales and marketing teams on issues relating to digital media and publishing, including intellectual property, data privacy, consumer marketing laws, and advertising law.
  • Structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including sponsorship, custom content, sales, marketing, and other strategic and operational agreements.
  • Collaborating with the Company's live media and event production teams on the execution of their events strategy and risk management procedures.
  • Working with the Company's Technology, IT, and Procurement teams to structure form agreements and negotiate and execute enterprise agreements and strategic tech transactions.
  • Serving on the Company's privacy team.
  • Managing claims and litigations arising from clients.
  • Developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and standards.

Required skills and experience include:

  • Minimum 10-12 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department, with a strong transactional/commercial background and experience with the programmatic advertising ecosystem.
  • Experience working with digital media and/or programmatic agencies is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to think strategically, commercially, and practically.
  • A juris doctor degree and membership in good standing in California are required.

The typical compensation package for this position includes a salary range of $240k - $255k, plus an annual discretionary bonus, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
