Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures
  • Transport patients and equipment as needed
  • Collaborate with other members of the operating room team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures
  • Participate in the teaching and mentoring of students and new staff members
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a license and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State or be eligible for certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists. Preferred qualifications include a formal certificate or degree program in Surgical Technology or meeting the Association of Surgical Technologists experience requirements.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, with days, evenings, and nights based on operational need. Weekends and holiday rotation are required, and call is necessary.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is SG 09, with a competitive benefits package offered by SUNY Upstate Medical University.
