About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented self-starter to join our team as a Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal in our Dallas office. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the supervising attorney(s) and provide support to the Bankruptcy group and other attorneys throughout the firm.

Responsibilities
  • Case organizing, analyzing, researching, and writing
  • Coordinating schedules, drafting legal documents, and communicating with parties
  • Assisting attorneys representing Debtors, Creditors, and Creditor Committees in large, complex chapter 11 restructuring cases
  • Performing legal research, especially on the Uniform Commercial Code
  • Conducting corporate background searches with the Secretary of State
  • Managing electronic discovery and e-filing
  • Following up and checking the status of bankruptcy cases
Requirements
  • Four (4) year undergraduate degree preferred but not required
  • Paralegal certification preferred but not required
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working on large, complex commercial bankruptcy matters as a paralegal in Texas required
  • Strong knowledge and computer skills of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Reveal, CoreRelate (Docketing), PACER, Elite, BestCase program, and Adobe software
  • Average typing speed of 60+ wpm required
  • Commitment to work overtime on evenings and weekends when necessary
  • Detail-oriented
  • Team player with ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with staff, attorneys, clients, courts, and other professionals
