Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Forklift Operator at Savannah Logistics Group, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the movement of finished goods within the distribution center. You will engage in loading and unloading trailers in a collaborative, fast-paced, and safety-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload products and materials from incoming vehicles and organize them in designated locations.
  • Identify and relocate stock to pallets or crates for storage or dispatch.
  • Monitor for damages and report any shortages or quality issues.
  • Transport raw materials to designated production areas.
  • Conduct machinery inspections to assess repair needs and ensure safety through regular maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and operational logs.
  • Adhere to company policies and legal regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized facility.
  • Report any defects, accidents, or damages to vehicles and equipment.
  • Keep logs of trailer movements and fuel usage.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments regarding daily trailer movements.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a Yard Jockey is highly regarded.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and familiarity with industrial machinery.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Valid forklift operation certification.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely.

Experience Requirements:

Demonstrated experience as a forklift operator with a minimum of one year in a similar role.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $22.00 per hour
