Key Responsibilities- Technical Objectives:
- Demonstrate technical excellence in engineering or related technology areas, with a strong understanding of development technologies and principles.
- Lead as a strong technical contributor to major development and production systems, applying advanced technologies and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
- Oversee program technical performance, ensuring project requirements are integrated, tested, and verified, resulting in high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed technical and schedule requirements.
- Lead and manage the resolution of technical issues, communicate the resolution, and ensure implementation.
- Develop and maintain engineering plans, risks, and opportunities, following change management processes and ensuring adherence to GDMS and Program specific standards and practices.
- Management Objectives:
- Demonstrate leadership, team building, and motivational skills, with experience leading high-performing teams and interacting with senior members of the company and customer communities.
- Work closely with Senior Engineering Leadership, Chief Engineers, and Program Managers to plan, authorize, and monitor engineering work, ensuring all events occur as planned.
- Staff the project team with the appropriate engineering skills and capabilities, conduct monthly engineering status reviews, and provide material for monthly program reviews.
- Motivate the engineering team, provide performance feedback and management, and take immediate and decisive action in dealing with technical and performance issues.
- Manage engineering resources, organizational interfaces, and engineering scope, providing input to the engineering leadership for potential areas of Research and Development.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
- 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
- Past system engineering background and leadership experience, including cost, scheduling, and technical management.
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire, but must be obtainable within a reasonable period of time as determined by program requirements.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US.
