Job Title: Pre-K Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Pre-K Teacher to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality educational environment for Pre-Kindergarten students, promoting their academic, social, and physical development in accordance with the system's philosophy, goals, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement an effective educational program for Pre-K students using the designated course of study, appropriate materials, and resources, and best instructional practices.
  • Assess and provide appropriate instruction and modifications based on student needs, attending to special interests, strengths, concerns, and students with special needs, including exceptional education students and students who have limited proficiency in English.
  • Define goals and objectives for age-appropriate long-range curriculum plans and daily lesson plans based on a review of system and state curriculum priorities, student profiles, and instructional priorities, and revises plans based on student needs.
  • Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities with age-appropriate materials considering individual students' culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic background, and foster active involvement of students in the learning process.
  • Utilize technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning, and model appropriate and innovative use of technology for students.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized learning environment, and establish and use behavior management techniques that are appropriate and effective.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with peers, parents, administrators, and other school system staff to maximize student achievement, and engage in continuing improvement of professional knowledge and skills and demonstrate professional ethics, sound judgment, and leadership.
Requirements:
  • Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
  • Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No.
Salary and Benefits:

Salary will be according to the Cherokee County Schools salary schedule.
