Thompson First Group is in search of a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a local client. Candidates with experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment are highly encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Work ScheduleWe offer two distinct 2nd Shift schedules:
- Sunday - Thursday: 11 pm to 7 am (five 8-hour shifts)
- Sunday: 6 pm to 4 am, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 2 pm to 12 am (four 10-hour shifts)
- Address written work orders and respond to urgent maintenance requests.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems utilizing schematics and testing tools.
- Repair machinery, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and various equipment within the facility.
- Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment as necessary.
- Identify and resolve issues related to machinery or equipment operation in collaboration with maintenance personnel and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with all required SQF/HACCP/Quality policies and accurately complete associated documentation.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- Assist in the training of new staff members as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with electrical systems, plumbing, welding, and machinery repair (mandatory).
- Experience in a dairy manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of punctuality and dependability.
- Ability to adapt and respond effectively to unexpected situations, such as equipment breakdowns.
- Exemplary work ethic.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be capable of lifting over 50 lbs as necessary for the role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Capability to work at heights using stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
