Cashier Job Description

Pete's Fresh Market is seeking a skilled Cashier to join our Front End team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all guests at the Point of Sale (POS). Your primary goal will be to ensure each customer leaves the store with an outstanding experience, while delivering fast, friendly, and accurate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to company standards and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
  • Assist customers with questions and concerns, providing solutions and alternatives when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the Front End team to achieve sales goals and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge of the POS system and company policies.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred.
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate and above-average cash handling and basic math skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as determined by the store's needs.
