Work Schedule
  • During summer, hours are from 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Thursday.
  • During the school year, hours are from 3 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Sanitization:
  • Regularly sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, and communal areas.
Waste Management:
  • Empty waste bins and dispose of trash appropriately.
  • Sort and recycle materials in accordance with school policies.
Surface Care:
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Floor Maintenance:
  • Strip, wax, and buff floors as necessary.
  • Shampoo carpets and rugs.
Supply Management:
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and toiletries.
  • Notify supervisors of any supply shortages or equipment issues.
Maintenance Duties:
  • Report maintenance concerns, damages, and required repairs promptly.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and addressing minor plumbing issues.
Event Assistance:
  • Support the setup and cleanup for special events, meetings, and activities.
  • Arrange furniture and equipment as needed.
Safety and Security:
  • Monitor and report safety hazards and security issues.
  • Ensure that exits remain clear and accessible.
Seasonal Responsibilities:
  • Carry out seasonal tasks, such as snow removal and salting during winter.
  • Assist with landscaping duties during warmer months.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work with other custodial staff to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Communicate effectively with school personnel and administrators.
Compliance:
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures related to custodial responsibilities.
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to complete required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of children.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
