Job Opportunity:
The Department of Pharmacodynamics at the University of Florida is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to work under the mentorship of Dr. Brandon Warren.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute behavioral experiments to investigate the role of rac1 in neuronal ensembles during cocaine self-administration using transgenic rats, mice, and AAVs.
- Perform rodent surgeries and implement molecular techniques, including AAV vector delivery, RNAseq, and single cell transcriptomics.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral and molecular data, maintaining meticulous records in lab notebooks and employing advanced data analysis techniques.
- Preserve lab operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory, and compliance with safety and ethical guidelines.
- Mentor graduate students and research assistants, preparing findings for publication, presenting at conferences, and assisting with grant applications.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced data analysis techniques, including machine learning.
- A track record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience with rodent behavioral models.
- Familiarity with molecular techniques such as AAV vectors and transgenic animals.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
