We are seeking an experienced Trade Education Specialist to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Central Texas.

Job Description

This Plumbing Instructor position is responsible for delivering classroom instruction and hands-on training sessions in plumbing, codes, and blueprint reading, pipefitting, system design, and repair techniques.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a licensed plumber in the residential and/or commercial plumbing industry with in-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, codes and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Instructing Students: Deliver lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions in various aspects of plumbing, codes, and blueprint reading, pipefitting, system design, and repair techniques.
  • Safety Protocols: Instruct students on safety protocols, including the proper use of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) in plumbing.
  • Real-World Examples: Provide students with real-world examples and case studies to illustrate plumbing concepts and applications.
  • Practical Training: Supervise and assist students during practical training sessions in the plumbing lab. Demonstrate proper techniques for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Training Materials: Help develop training materials for use in formal class training; high competency reviewing, discussing and presenting these materials; able to support a number of different learning styles.
  • Policies and Procedures: Provide training in policy and procedures in compliance with all local, state and federal rules, regulations and laws.
  • Student Coordination: Oversee student coordination and scheduling, data collection and ensure diligent documentation; constantly striving to identify opportunity for program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitoring Outcomes: Monitor outcomes of testing; provide proper documentation.
