About the Role:

The Anesthesia Technician Specialist is a vital member of the anesthesia patient care team, working under the Department of Anesthesiology to provide support for routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia.

This role reports to the Sr Director, Surgical Services and the Director of Anesthesiology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and residents as requested, within the scope of practice.
  • Assist with anesthesia case setup.
  • Clean and restock OR carts.
  • Perform simple maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment, cleaning, storage, and uses.
  • Ensure anesthesia equipment and supplies are present and up-to-date.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by anesthesia providers, including clinical duties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining or repairing medical, mechanical, or electronic equipment, with 6 months in a hospital operating room preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Certification as an Anesthesia Technician (CAT) by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
  • Ability to communicate in English (oral and written).
