Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Personally handle or manage litigation of a most complex nature involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines, applicable standards of good faith
  • Analyze files as litigation progresses and evaluate cases to seek settlement as necessary
  • Conduct discovery, motion practice, and draft all necessary pleadings, papers, and briefs to advance litigation
  • Conduct necessary research in support of drafting activities and advocate client position in all forums, both formal and informal
  • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions
  • May have or develop areas of specialty practice, such as special property, workers compensation, environmental law, or commercial coverage
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions, and discovery and deposing witnesses
  • Demonstrated litigation experience and solid knowledge and understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the jurisdiction in which they practice
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law
Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a minimum salary of $109,000 per year and a maximum salary of $186,000 per year, as well as comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and wellbeing benefits, a competitive 401(k) contribution, a pension plan, an annual incentive, 9 paid holidays, and a paid time off program (23 days accrued annually for full-time employees). We also offer a student loan repayment program and paid-family leave.
