Job Summary

The Diesel Mechanic will assist in the maintenance and repair of school buses and other vehicles. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel engines and the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buses and other vehicles
  • Assist in the performance of work orders
  • Remove and replace vehicular parts
  • Conduct general inspections of all vehicles and buses
  • Perform preventive maintenance making necessary repairs
Requirements
  • Valid Mississippi Commercial Driver's license, Class A, B, or C with a P and S endorsement
  • Valid school bus driver's certificate issued by a Mississippi State Department of Education instructor
  • Be at least 20 years of age
  • Have a current DOT Medical Certificate (where applicable)
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds
Working Conditions

The Diesel Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
