Telecommunications Project Coordinator

Applied Business Communications (ABcom) is a leading national contractor specializing in low voltage structured cabling solutions, and we are seeking our next telecommunications project coordinators.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in estimating and overseeing projects within the telecommunications cabling sector.
  • Experience in construction oversight and managing projects with multiple subcontractors is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficient in completing and submitting precise documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in supervisory roles.
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Experience with Data Centers and Wi-Fi is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the management of telecommunications teams responsible for various systems, including category station, backbone, and fiber optic cabling, as well as special systems such as security, CCTV, audio-visual, and fire alarm cabling; including copper and fiber optic cable termination, splicing, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee daily project operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery.
  • Develop and utilize tools and mechanisms essential for effective project delivery, including baseline scheduling, change orders, staffing, material management, ordering, and invoicing.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage subcontractor relationships.
  • Provide timely updates, including status reports and financial summaries, to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.

DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management Professional (PMI, PMP) certification.
  • Industry-recognized certifications in structured cabling, such as BICSI RCDD or other relevant credentials.
  • Certification in Construction Management.
