Job Type: Full-time, with part-time options available

Required Skills:

  • Experience in handling canine and feline patients
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Sound decision-making skills
  • Professional and compassionate interaction with clients and colleagues
  • Basic proficiency in various computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Practice Management software (PIMS)

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with veterinary hospital protocols and procedures
  • Capability to collect medical histories and vital signs
  • Knowledge of in-house laboratory operations
  • Experience in phlebotomy and catheter management
  • Preparation and execution of imaging for radiological assessments
  • Understanding of medical equipment and terminology
  • Knowledge of common medications used in veterinary practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during appointments
  • Educate clients on wellness, nutrition, and individual pet health requirements
  • Deliver high-quality service while maintaining productivity
  • Initiate laboratory, radiology, and treatment procedures
  • Prepare and monitor patients during anesthetic procedures
  • Administer medications as directed by a veterinarian
  • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians and team members
  • Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with our values
  • Perform dental cleanings and radiographs
  • Support a collaborative practice environment that ensures quality, compassionate, and efficient healthcare for pets
  • Adhere to all practice policies and quality assurance standards

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent computer use for extended periods, including typing
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted and 75 lbs with assistance

Compensation:

The starting pay for this position is $17/hr, commensurate with experience.
