This role involves adhering to established procedures for utilizing cleaning agents to sanitize equipment and maintain a hygienic environment essential for the safe processing of food products.

Department: Sanitation

Compensation: $20-$22 per hour based on experience

Reports To: Sanitation Supervisor

Work Environment: Various locations within the facility, including production areas and administrative spaces. The areas of focus include:

  1. Zone 1 - Direct Food Contact Surfaces
  2. Zone 2 - Indirect Food Contact Surfaces
  3. Zone 3 - Adjacent to Food Contact Surfaces
  4. Zone 4 - Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving Dock, Entryways, Utility Areas, and Outdoor Grounds

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Consistently oversee production areas to ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  2. Provide guidance and support to colleagues in maintaining sanitary operations.
  3. Monitor adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined by SnackCraft.
  4. Execute sanitation tasks as per the Master Sanitation Schedule and Daily Housekeeping protocols.
  5. Mentor and assist team members during line cleaning activities.
  6. Adhere to and enforce all OSHA Safety Regulations and Safety Guidelines.
  7. Report any safety issues to the Safety Committee.

Essential Duties:

  1. General Requirements:
  2. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are necessary.
  3. Maintain appropriate attire and demonstrate good personal hygiene.
  4. Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  5. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
  6. Daily housekeeping and GMP adherence.
  7. Regularly monitor waste collection stations to prevent risks to personnel and food safety.
  8. Promptly address spills to mitigate risks to personnel and food products.
  9. Ensure that utensils and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are routinely checked, cleaned, sanitized, and restocked.
  10. Continuously identify and rectify GMP violations as they arise.
  11. Program Responsibilities:
  12. Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS):
  13. Complete assigned tasks according to the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure.
  14. Document completed work for review and auditing purposes.
  15. Internal Pest Management (IPM):
  16. Identify potential pest issues and communicate concerns to supervisors.
  17. Assist in the inspection and removal of pests when necessary.
  18. Chemical Control:
  19. Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
  20. Ensure all cleaning agents are properly labeled and stored.
  21. Product Changeover:
  22. Support the training of staff on cleaning procedures and requirements.
  23. Perform specific cleaning tasks as assigned.
