Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Embassy Suites Atlanta. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Supervise and maintain the ongoing maintenance operation for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and preventive maintenance.
  • Project Management: Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and on time by studying work schedules and estimating labor hour requirements for completion.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and maintain an effective operation and general maintenance program with accurate, up-to-date records.
  • Training and Development: Train and develop the maintenance team on building systems, equipment function and purpose, operation and maintenance procedures, and efficient practices.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure property compliance with all City, State, and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Guest Services: Establish and implement prompt and courteous response to guest requests within the guidelines set by hotel and brand standards.
  • Inventory Control: Supervise inventory control and ordering.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with management team for long-term strategic plans and forecasting for the property maintenance budgeting.
Requirements
  • Education: Vocational Institution Certificate or Apprenticeship in technical/mechanical/facilities preferred.
  • Experience: Experience as a Building Engineer or equivalent facilities technical trade 5+ years required.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of hand tools, power tools, plumbing, electrical, AC, HVAC systems.
  • Certifications: Technical certifications preferred.
