Registered Nurse - Whittier Health Network - Transitional Care Unit
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Available Shifts: 7 AM - 3 PM, 3 PM - 11 PM, 11 PM - 7 AM
Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and assesses all direct patient care, taking necessary corrective actions when required.
- Provides clinical oversight for nursing assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses delivering direct patient care.
- Adheres to staffing protocols and assigns nursing duties based on staff qualifications and patient needs.
- Takes responsibility for ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations within the designated unit.
- Ensures timely and appropriate documentation of all physician orders and related paperwork.
- Conducts patient rounds, reporting any issues to the nursing supervisor and initiating corrective measures.
- Identifies patient concerns and emergency situations, implementing immediate life-saving interventions as per nursing standards and advance directives.
- Administers and records medications, enteral nutrition, and treatments as per physician orders, maintaining accurate daily records of care and observations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in Massachusetts.
- Experience in Geriatric Nursing is essential.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support as per American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards is required.
- Understanding of growth and development across the lifespan.
