Job Summary:

The GeorgiaGov Public Defender's Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Attorney 2 to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional legal representation to indigent clients in Superior Court.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in Superior Court, including preparation and presentation of cases for trials and/or pleas.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and advocate defense positions in court and negotiations.
  • Perform professional legal work, including assisting in cases of routine complexity.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective defense strategies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university.
  • License to practice law in the State of Georgia or eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination.
  • One year of relevant legal experience, or one year of experience as an Attorney 1.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Criminal law experience.
  • Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
