We are seeking a highly qualified Biology Instructor to join our faculty team at James Sprunt Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching biology courses, developing curriculum, and providing academic advising to students.
Key Responsibilities- Teach biology courses to students at various levels, including introductory and advanced courses
- Develop and implement curriculum for biology courses, ensuring alignment with college and departmental goals
- Provide academic advising to students, helping them to achieve their academic and career goals
- Assist with departmental and institutional planning, contributing to the development of new programs and initiatives
- Participate in college-wide committees and activities, promoting a positive image of the college
- Master's degree in Biology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development, preferably in a community college setting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods and use computer equipment
- Master's degree in Biology, with a focus on teaching and curriculum development
- Experience in distance learning and online course development
- Fluency in a second language, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations
