The role of the Sterile Processing Technician involves executing essential tasks related to the sterilization and preparation of medical instruments and supplies. This position requires fostering a collaborative relationship with various departments to uphold high standards of patient care.
Key Qualifications and Core Competencies
Education: A High School diploma is mandatory.
Licensure: Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST or CBSPD) is essential.
Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a Sterile Processing environment within a healthcare facility is required.
Additional Requirements:
Proficiency in basic computer operations and strong customer service abilities are necessary.
Strong mathematical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to perform physical tasks are crucial.
Knowledge of the correct handling of clean, sterile, and contaminated materials and equipment is required.
Intermediate skills in Excel are expected.
Work hours, starting times, and days of service may vary based on departmental and organizational needs.
