Job Summary:


The Platform Engineer is a crucial member of our IT team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our technology environment. This role involves configuration, installations, and upgrades of hardware and software to troubleshoot and maintain the integrity of our platform.



Main Responsibilities:




  • Hardware and Software Configuration: Build and maintain hardware configurations, software installations, and network requirements to align with business needs and organizational standards.
  • Issue Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting issues by following user guides or manuals to improve platforms and align with application goals.
  • DevOps Tools Integration: Provide support in configuring and integrating DevOps tools with other services to support organizational needs.
  • Testing and Production Support: Work closely with DevOps engineering and production teams to conduct testing on new features and services, and support production launches.
  • Automated Fulfillment Mechanisms: Refine and review templates and scripts to assist in implementing and maintaining automated fulfillment mechanisms to optimize delivery of key platform services.
  • Team Coordination: Create prioritized team task lists and identify dependencies on other teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Security and Compliance: Identify security threats and suggest remedial measures to comply with strict security compliance, and review and refine draft security and resiliency policies, standards, and procedures.


Requirements:


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or at least 3 years of experience in the role of Platform Engineer or related position. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer is also preferred.



Key Skills:



  • 2-4 years of experience in platform engineering and infrastructure components
  • Experience in automated interaction with physical infrastructure
  • Understanding of managing and maintaining cloud-based environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Familiarity with monitoring and log management tools such as Nagios, Splunk, and ELK
  • Understanding of developing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Strong scripting experience in languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Terraform
