Construction Project Management Expert

This is a full-time position for a skilled Construction Project Management Expert to join our team at MGC Contractors in El Paso, Texas. As a key member of our Texas Division, you will be responsible for overseeing construction projects from start to finish.
Main Responsibilities
- Administer general contracts and subcontracts, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulations.
- Create and manage construction schedules, coordinating with stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
- Source and procure materials and equipment, expediting delivery to ensure smooth project execution.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to coordinate mechanical, electrical, and piping systems.
- Review project costs, prepare reports, and update accounting records to ensure transparency and accuracy.
- Process subcontractor payments, verify applications, and negotiate change proposals as needed.
- Participate in project meetings, fostering effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors' field installations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Analyze change proposal pricing from subcontractors and develop self-performed work change proposals.
- Research and recommend optimal construction methods, means, and equipment to improve project efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, vendors, and subcontractors through effective communication and negotiation skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This role operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to communicate effectively, interpret printed materials, and use standard office equipment.
- The position also involves working on construction sites, necessitating excellent verbal communication skills, reading abilities, and stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions.
- You will be required to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, or feel objects weighing up to 50 pounds, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around the work area, and navigate uneven surfaces safely.
- The position demands working outside for extended periods, frequently in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, potentially exposing you to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses, gases, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position, with occasional overtime required based on job demands.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is necessary.
- Prior construction field experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and quick response times are essential.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
