About the Role:

The Maine Municipal Association is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director to join our team in Bridgton. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the Town's financial operations, ensuring the financial stability and success of the municipality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to ensure the Town's financial stability and success.
  • Oversee the accounting functions, including financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Manage and maintain the Town's financial systems, including TRIO software.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies relevant to municipal financial management.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Town Manager and Deputy Town Manager.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • Proven experience in governmental accounting, budgeting, and fund management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
