Unit Description
The Ortho Surgery Unit is a 24-bed facility that provides comprehensive nursing care around the clock, catering to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical needs. Our unit has received accolades for its performance in various specialties, emphasizing our commitment to quality care.
Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will:
- Deliver expert clinical practice and care coordination, ensuring a holistic approach to patient and family care.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with the healthcare team, respecting the contributions of all disciplines.
- Empower patients through education and support, utilizing established standards and guidelines for optimal care delivery.
- Engage in continuous professional development, mentoring peers and leading initiatives to enhance practice settings.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care environment.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required. RNs with an Associate's Degree (ADN) must complete their BSN within five years of hire.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
- ACLS certification is preferred.
- Must hold a valid nursing license or be eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
