  • Seating and Escorting: Assist with seating and ensuring there are seats available when residents arrive for meals. May assist residents to or from the dining room if an escort is needed.
  • Table Setting and Cleaning: Set and clear tables, arrange seating, and ensure all china and flatware are clean and in good condition.
  • Food Preparation and Plating: Assist with the preparation and plating of food items, such as salads, soups, desserts, and hot and cold beverages.
  • Supply Management: Keep all supplies stocked in the serving area, including linens, china, and flatware.
  • Menu Rotation and Guest Charges: Assist with rotating menus, guest charge tickets, resident declining dollar, point of sale, and room service forms.
  • Dishwashing and Cleaning: Assist with dishwashing and cleaning, including gathering soiled items from carts, trays, and dining areas, and placing clean items in proper storage areas.
  • Special Events and Activities: Assist with special events and activities held at Liberty Health System.
  • Customer Feedback and Complaints: Review and promptly report to Dining Supervisors all guest complaints and grievances.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Utilize safe food preparation methods when receiving, preparing, storing, cooling, freezing, holding, transporting, serving, and reheating foods. Monitor temperature records and checklists for holding and storing equipment to maintain safe food at all stages in the flow of food.
  • Equipment Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times, ensuring all equipment and work areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established checklists.
  • Reporting and Corrective Action: Report and take immediate and appropriate corrective action if standards are not met.
  • Creating a Positive Dining Experience: Create a positive dining experience for customers that promotes their independence, choice, and overall well-being.
  • Encouraging Participation: Encourage participation in the dining program and meal activities.
  • Soliciting Feedback: Solicit feedback by interacting with customers in the market cafe.
  • Conveying Feedback and Recommendations: Convey feedback and make recommendations regarding food quality and customer satisfaction to the Executive Chef.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma and 6 months or more experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or country club.
  • Certification: Must have or be willing to obtain a food safety certification.
  • Work Experience: Work experience in a service-oriented profession preferred but not necessary.
  • Skills and Abilities: Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards the elderly are essential. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately. Attends trainings and department meetings when necessary. Performs other duties as outlined by supervisor. Is effective at delivering written and spoken instruction on a regular basis.
