Job Summary:
This role is essential in designing and implementing effective training programs for all security personnel within CommonSpirit Health. The primary focus is to ensure the ongoing professional development of security staff while adhering to relevant regulatory standards. The incumbent will facilitate the onboarding process for new security hires and oversee the initial and ongoing training for existing personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver tailored training materials and exercises to enhance the skills and knowledge of the security team.
2. Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation to meet auditing requirements.
3. Coordinate the onboarding process for new security officers in line with established protocols.
4. Manage the procurement, issuance, and retirement of uniforms and essential security equipment.
5. Provide educational sessions across various departments regarding workplace safety, active shooter scenarios, and behavioral restraint techniques.

Essential Functions:
Adapt training methodologies to accommodate a diverse workforce, ensuring an engaging learning environment that addresses different learning styles and capabilities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, accompanied by four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills.

Certifications:
  • Preferred certifications include International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Basic and Advanced/Supervisory.
  • HSS Teams Trainer or equivalent de-escalation certification is preferred.
  • AVADE Handcuff, CS Gel, and shield trainer certification or equivalent is also preferred.
