Job Summary

The JCB Service Writer is a key member of the Service Department at KanEquip Inc, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the department. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule service work for JCB technicians, ensuring timely completion of tasks and minimal downtime.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of service work, including warranty documentation and customer communication.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to develop and implement effective service strategies, ensuring optimal allocation of technician time and resources.
  • Assist technicians with paperwork, computer usage, and warranty descriptions, as well as provide local technical assistance and vendor technical inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with all location personnel, including technicians, service writers, salespeople, and parts personnel.
  • Ensure good feedback to parts personnel on stocking levels and sales personnel on equipment status and priorities.
  • Help ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, as measured by customer surveys, feedback from calling customers on billings, customer events, and interactions.
  • Pursue service interval work for current JCB units in the area, using the telematic system and the service quote tool.
  • Responsible for the efficiency and safety of trucking operations, including optimum scheduling, customer satisfaction with service, and fleet maintenance.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for JCB technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a service or administrative role, preferably in the heavy equipment industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in computer software and hardware.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
