Job Summary:

As a Computed Tomography Technologist at CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet the expectations of the applicable CHRISTUS Health Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including complex imaging procedures, utilizing state-of-the-art computerized diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Start and maintain intravenous (IV) access and use high-speed, pressurized injection equipment.
  • Evaluate patients for clinical contrast history and possible contraindications.
  • Adhere to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interact appropriately with patients and all care providers by coordinating and prioritizing procedures during the workday to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity.
  • Rotate within departments and clinics for proper coverage.
  • Assist radiologists in invasive and biopsy-type procedures using CT equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
  • Ensure exam rooms are neat, clean, and adequately stocked prior to exams and act to ensure compliance with Infection Control standards.
  • Correctly code and enter all charges.
  • Adapt to assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each patient served.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and do not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.

Requirements:
Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required. Experience: 1 year of CT experience in a Hospital or Clinical setting required. 3 years of CT experience in a clinical Imaging setting preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in CT required. Current state Licensure required. Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
