Lead VBA Developer Opportunity

Insight Global is seeking a skilled Lead VBA Developer to join an Agile team for a Property and Casualty Insurance company. This role involves laying out processes and workflows for the team, with a deep understanding of underwriting workflows. The successful candidate will be hands-on in developing enhancements and adding features to internal underwriting applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and lead the design process for functions and applications supporting underwriting department workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and underwriters to develop, support, and maintain application tools leveraging data structures in the data warehouse.
  • Work with underwriting leadership to enhance and fine-tune existing applications used in rating, quoting, and reporting processes.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide guidance and advice on underwriting processes and automation related to application development.
  • Manage and lead application projects with the underwriting department.
  • Develop and support complex Macro and VBA-based Excel tools.
  • Develop SQL Server queries.
  • Design and develop data structures (e.g., tables, views, procedures) in databases supporting underwriter tools.
Requirements:
  • Team Lead experience.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Excel-based VBA development experience.
  • Experience in the Insurance industry (Property & Casualty).
  • Understanding of underwriting workflows.
  • Experience with Excel Macros.
  • Experience with SQL Server tools (SSRS).
  • Experience with Bit Bucket.
  • Experience developing with Python.
  • Experience with APIs.

Pay rate will range due to levels of experience: $50/hr - $65/hr.
