The Elevator Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of machinery essential for grain handling. Responsibilities encompass daily inspections, routine maintenance, and the management of grain transfer processes. This position operates on a second shift, typically from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and manage incoming trucks.
  • Implement and oversee daily maintenance and reliability practices across multiple facilities, adhering to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of elevator and ground equipment, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and associated process instruments.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical issues by observing equipment operations and utilizing precision measurement tools.
  • Maintain machinery functionality by fulfilling preventive maintenance tasks on motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor belts, and production equipment, following technical manuals and engineering specifications.
  • Accurately bin products and load midds onto transport vehicles.
  • Facilitate the transfer of products to milling operations.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to maintenance and operational tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in maintenance or millwright roles.
  • Experience in grain handling and proficiency in computer skills are advantageous.
  • On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Safety training will be conducted in both group and individual settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and proficiency in reading and writing in English are essential.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • This role involves physical activities such as lifting, pulling, and standing on concrete surfaces.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Work may involve extreme temperatures ranging from 40 to 100 degrees.
  • Potential hazards associated with manufacturing equipment, particularly forklifts.
  • Climbing ladders may be necessary.
