Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and execute product vision.
  • Develop technical knowledge in areas outside your expertise to understand design constraints and craft creative solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for function, aesthetic, and manufacturability.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent and inspection requirements.
  • Ensure fit, form, and function throughout the product life cycle through stress analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, testing, and failure analysis.
Requirements:
  • CAD skills: 3D CAD experience required, NX preferred, 2D drafting and GD&T preferred.
  • Mechanical intuition, spatial reasoning, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, statistics, and material science.
  • Flexible design abilities and knowledge: tolerance analysis, design for assembly and manufacturability, electro-mechanical integration, design for high-volume manufacturing, simple fixture design, initial product layouts, understanding of Statistical Process Controls (SPC), and understanding of metrology.
  • Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the design cycle from concept to manufacturing.
  • Experience designing mechanical components for high-volume manufacturing, especially injection molded parts, sheet metal components, die-cast, and machined parts.
Compensation:

Estimated minimum rate: $45.00

Estimated maximum rate: $80.00
