Medical Assistant Job Description

At Mercy, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for visits by completing advanced standard room processes, including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and documentation in Epic.
  • Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
  • Administer vaccines and injections within scope of practice.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and collaborate with providers to monitor and coordinate care plans.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience.
Certified Medical Assistant:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) and obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
