Janitorial Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Assistant to join our team at Friendship Community Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our clients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Common Areas:
- Empty trash cans and take them to the dumpster daily
- Sweep and mop hallways, staff bathroom, office, and reception area daily
- Clean windows at least three times a week
- Clean and sanitize the water fountain daily
- Clean and sanitize public bathroom(s)
- Sweep sidewalks at least weekly
- Sweep and mop offices twice a week
- Remove debris from the parking lot twice a week
- Dust lighting fixtures monthly
- Classrooms/Therapy Areas:
- Sweep and mop each area, including bathrooms
- Vacuum rugs
- Empty trash cans and take them to the dumpster
- Clean and sanitize children's bathrooms (toilets, sinks, floors) and replenish supplies
- Clean and sanitize children's sinks
- Maintain current certification in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control by attending annual courses and serve as a First Responder for Preschool
- Actively participate in weekly, monthly, and annual staff meetings as arranged by the supervisor
- Attend all training activities as required by Administration, licensing units, and/or supervisor
- Participate in a minimum of 15 hours of in-house and/or outside Early Childhood training annually as required, including out-of-town/overnight travel as required
- Follow the chain of command by reporting to the immediate supervisor for all issues
- Follow the FCC Policy/Procedures manual and minimum licensing requirements for childcare centers at all times
- Comply with all DHS regulations contained within the DHS Handbook
- Other duties may be assigned

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and previous related experience preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training must be followed
- Consumers' progress notes must be maintained and completed daily or as needed on the prescribed forms
- Consumers' records must be maintained weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. All information must be filed in consumers' records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources
