About the Role:

The Speech Language Pathologist is a key member of our team, responsible for evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, and feeding disorders. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients' speech, language, and feeding abilities through interviews, direct observation, and standardized assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, setting goals and tracking progress.
  • Provide medically based speech, language, and feeding therapy to eligible patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Document patient records, including therapy notes, evaluation reports, and progress notes.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and company policies.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge and experience treating pediatric patients with speech, language, and feeding disorders, including cleft palate and resonance disorders, oral motor and oral sensory feeding disorders, swallowing disorders, language delays, and hearing impairments.
  • Ability to analyze test results objectively and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer software programs, including MS Office and EMR.
Education or Equivalency:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • AZ State Speech Pathology License.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency through American Speech-Language Hearing Association or Clinical Fellow.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Experience Requirements:
  • 2 years' experience as a Speech Language Pathologist preferred.
Employee Health Compliance:

As a condition of employment, District Medical Group requires its employees to comply with Employee Health standards. All employees must provide proof of Tuberculosis clearance and Influenza Immunization (or approved declinations). Specific roles, depending on location/job responsibilities, will require proof of immunization or antibodies for Hepatitis B, MMR, TDAP, and Varicella.
