Financial Representative

As a Financial Representative at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient financial experiences. Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor and the Director of Patient Accounting, you will be responsible for all aspects of Financial Counseling.

Key responsibilities include reviewing scheduled appointments, admissions, and registrations to identify potential financial concerns; meeting with patients and/or their representatives to advise them of their financial obligations; and collecting complete and accurate financial information when needed.

You will also serve as a resource to the registration/scheduling staff and notify management and other collection staff of any potential problems with patient account balances.

Educational/Experience/Regulatory Requirements:

• Ability to organize work, direct priorities, and accomplish duties with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree or active pursuit preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment testing, including clerical ability and typing test.
• AAHAM or NAHAM certification or active pursuit preferred.
• Two years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle department with an emphasis on Financial Counseling or collections preferred.

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English and communicate firmly with patients regarding their financial status.
